AFCAMP Parent Café: Session 5

 

AFCAMP, in partnership with CFSP and Hartford Public Schools, presents the fifth session of their Parent Café. Parent Café is a virtual safe space for parents and caregivers to express their needs, challenges and successes in raising a family.

Join us via Zoom as we share the victories and challenges of raising a family in this parental support group. We will also be addressing new topics like

  • Mental Health Conversation -Part 2 – Healing Journey
  • Courageous Conversations with Children, Adolescents, and Teens
  • Creating Youth & Family Advocacy Planning Maps

Connecticut Summer at the Museum 2022

  • This two (2) day session is a part of the Family Engagement Statewide Trainings: Black Lives Matter in CT Series
  • This is a two (2) day event – Saturday, March 26, 2022 & Saturday April 30, 2022 at 10:00am-12:00pm
  • During this session, participants will learn about literacy learning for children ages 0-8, and explore a variety of children’s authentic multicultural literature that promotes positive self-identity.

How Welcoming is Your School? Walkthrough Overview Training

Educators understand more than ever that the key to engaging parents is to make their schools feel “like family.” Schools that extend a genuine welcome to parents have stronger partners in the education process. The CT Welcoming Schools Initiative was developed to enhance partnerships among families, schools and the community. This workshop will incorporate hands-on activities and practice using the Welcoming Tool. The Tool focuses on the physical environment, family engagement practice, policy and communication indicators to assess the climate and culture of the school. Teams from schools comprised of families, administrators, teachers, family liaisons and community partners.
