An Overview of Parent Teacher Home Visits (PTHV)
The research is clear, families are essential to student success. The Parent Teacher Home Visiting Program (PTHV) connects the expertise of the family with the expertise of the classroom teacher. The PTHV model has proven to increase student attendance and decrease suspension and expulsion rates. Most importantly, PTHV visits serve to build mutually respectful relationship between families and school staff.
This PTHV Overview Session will:
• Review the most current family engagement research.
• Discuss high-impact strategies and the CT Framework.
• Learn about the PTHV model and conditions to implement.
Note: This is an informational session designed to answer questions that will prepare schools and families for the in-depth PTHV training scheduled for April 7, 2021.
